Joel Smirnoff and Ronald Copes, violins; Samuel Rhodes, viola; and Joel Krosnick, cello
The Quintet was played once. Then each musician took turns playing a Carter-composed solo piece for their instrument. Next, Elliot Carter was on hand to talk about the new piece and the ideas behind each section. Then they played the Quintet a 2nd time.
